Walmart Bereavement Policy (2022 Guide)
What is the Walmart bereavement policy? Bereavement leave is a type of leave that is often given to employees who have lost a close family member. It allows them time to mourn and grieve their loss.
Many companies offer bereavement leave as a standard policy, though the duration and terms of the leave can vary greatly.
Walmart Bereavement Policy 2022
Walmart has a bereavement policy that allows employees to take time off work after the death of a loved one. The policy states that employees are allowed to take up to three days off work, with pay, after the death of a spouse, parent, child, or sibling.
Employees are also allowed to take up to two days off work, with pay, after the death of a grandparent or grandchild. If an employee's spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, or grandchild dies while the employee is on leave for another reason, the employee is allowed to use the remaining leave days.
Full time or part-time employees?
The Walmart bereavement policy applies only to full-time employees who have been with Walmart for at least one year. Part-time employees are not covered by the policy.
Walmart's bereavement policy is more generous than the bereavement policies of most other large firms. For example, Starbucks allows employees to take two days off work, with pay, after the death of a spouse, parent, or child. IBM and Dell both allow employees to take one day off work, with pay, after the death of a spouse or child.
The purpose of Walmart's bereavement policy is to help employees mourn the death of a loved one. The policy allows employees to take time off work to attend funerals and spend time with family members who are grieving. Is Bereavement An Excused Absence At Walmart?

Is there a law that requires Walmart to give bereavement leave?

Eligibility
Associates who have been employed by Walmart for at least one year are eligible for bereavement leave.

Additional Policies

- To take care of a pet that needs special care
- Military service or deployment
Each situation is unique, and the employee should contact their supervisor or HR department to find out what the specific policies are for taking leave from Walmart. In most cases, employees will be able to continue receiving benefits and receive pay during their leave. However, it is important to be aware of the specific policies so that there are no surprises.
Can I Take a Personal Leave at Walmart?
