Does Target Price Match Amazon? (2022 Facts)
Does Target price match Amazon? Target is an American retail giant that offers products in a variety of categories, including apparel, home goods, electronics, and more. Target has a reputation for offering low prices and great deals, making it a popular shopping destination for many consumers.
In recent years, Target has also expanded its product offerings to include more exclusive and designer brands, as well as expanding its grocery selection. Target is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has over 1,800 stores across the United States.
Does Target Price Match Amazon?
Target's price matching policy is pretty straightforward: if you find an item for a lower price at Amazon.com, Target will match that price. The price match is available both in-store and on Target.com, and there are only a few conditions that you need to be aware of. First, the item must be identical in brand, model, size, weight, color, and quantity.
Second, you must provide proof of the lower price on Amazon.com (Target will not accept competitor ads or printouts). And finally, Target reserves the right to verify the price and availability of the item before price matching. If you meet all of these conditions, then you should have no problem getting Target to match Amazon's prices.
How do you price match Amazon at Target?
So, you're at Target.com, about to buy that new TV you've been wanting. You add it to your cart, and just as you're about to click "checkout", you remember that you should probably check Amazon.com first, just in case. And lo and behold, the same TV is being sold for $20 less on Amazon.com. So what do you do?
Well, thankfully, Target has a price matching policy whereby they will match the price of an identical item being sold on Amazon.com (or several other major retailers). To get the price match, you must first find an eligible product - that is, one that is entirely identical in brand, model, color, weight, and quantity.
Once you've found such a product, simply contact Target Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869 and request a price match. A Target employee will then verify the lower price on Amazon.com and adjust the price of the item for you accordingly.
Is there a Target price match discount on Amazon?
Target's policy says that they will not price match an Amazon item if it is on clearance, closeout, liquidation, percentage off, or dollar deduction. Additionally, promotions such as buy one get one free, bundled, or multi-buy deals cannot be price matched either, along with Amazon coupons, Amazon Prime deals, and promotion codes.
Even though Target won't price match these items, you can still use a Target REDcard to save 5% on your purchase. If you're not a REDcard holder, you can sign up for one online or in-store. Target also has its sales and promotions that are worth checking out.
For example, they currently have a deal where you can save $5 off a $50 purchase when you use order pickup. Overall, while Target won't price match Amazon's sale items, there are still plenty of ways to save at Target.
Is it possible for Target to price match all items on Amazon?
No, Target will not price match everything sold on Amazon. Target will price match anything sold and fulfilled by Amazon with some exceptions. However, you must ensure that the product is currently in stock at both Amazon.com and Target.com. Exceptions to what Target will price match include items sold by third-party Amazon merchants or Target Plus Partners on any level, items that contain (or are based on) alcohol, Amazon Prime deals (including prime day deals), fees, and shipping, and Amazon Fresh exclusive deals.
In addition, refurbished goods such as tablets, laptops, cell phones, or consoles are also not included in what Target will price match. So while Target does offer a great price matching policy, there are still some restrictions in place. But overall, if you're looking for the best deal possible on an item that's sold on Amazon, checking to see if Target offers a lower price is definitely worth your time.
Is Target willing to match Amazon's shipping costs?
Both companies offer a variety of products at competitive prices. However, one area where they differ is in their shipping policies. Amazon offers free shipping on many items for Prime members, while Target does not typically match Amazon’s shipping fees. There are several reasons for this.
First, much of Amazon’s free shipping is only available to Prime members, who pay an annual fee for the privilege. Target does not offer a similar membership program, so it cannot match Amazon’s shipping deals. Secondly, Amazon relies heavily on its private fleet of courier drivers to deliver orders. This infrastructure is not available to Target customers, so the company cannot match Amazon’s shipping fees.
Will Target Price Match an item I've Purchased Previously?
Target will happily price match an item you have already purchased within 14 days of the purchase date, as long as you find the lower price on Amazon.com. All you need to do is bring your original receipt (or packing slip) to a store cashier, and they'll take care of the rest.
Please note that Target will not price match expired deals, so be sure to check the date before requesting a price adjustment. Also, keep in mind that this policy only applies to items purchased on Target.com - if you find a lower price on Amazon for an item you bought in-store, you'll need to follow Target's standard price adjustment policy.
But with this policy in place, there's no need to worry about finding a better deal on Amazon after buying from Target - you can always get the lowest price, up to 14 days after your purchase.
Is Amazon Price Matching Target?
Amazon.com does not offer price matching for any store or eCommerce retailer, including Target. A large portion of Amazon’s sales is made by Amazon Marketplace sellers, who are ineligible for price matches. Moreover, Amazon’s lack of price matching encourages customers to subscribe to Amazon Prime to gain free next-day or even same-day delivery along with various exclusive deals.
In general, Amazon’s prices are already very competitive, so there is little need for them to match the prices of other stores. However, if you are a loyal Target shopper, you might be disappointed to learn that you cannot take advantage of Target’s low prices on Amazon.
Conclusion
Target is committed to offering the lowest prices available, and that includes matching the prices offered by Amazon.com. You can request a price match for items bought online by contacting Target Guest Services with proof of the lower price. The request will only be accepted if the products are in stock at both online retailers and are identical in brand, model, color, weight, size, and quantity.
Exclusions apply, such as all items sold by third-party merchants by either party, Amazon Prime prices, and Amazon Fresh Exclusives. But if you find a lower price on an identical product at Amazon.com, Target will match it. So you can shop with confidence knowing that you're getting the best deal available.
