CEO Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and present the company and business direction to the board of directors.
  • Present performance metrics to the board of directors.
  • Be a board member (a member of the executive board) yourself and handle the president role.
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and other executives to lead the vision of the business.
  • Ensure that the Vice President's roles have a clear understanding of the company vision and performance goals.
  • Oversee all general management and operations of the business.
  • Take responsibility for each department and its performance goals.
  • Handle the strategic planning of the business and map out a 6-month, 12-month, and 24-month strategic goal for each department.
  • Determine the organization’s mission and ensure that each director, employee, and other staff members have a clear understanding of it.
  • Work closely with an assigned executive assistant to amplify your work.
  • Direct the human resource team and allocate budget annually for new hires or pay raises.
  • Determine the strategic plan of the business and its revenue generation.
  • Connect with managers on a regular basis, understand their work, and guide the direction of their results. Ensure the team is managing their staff according to the business policies in place. Including the cultural direction of the business and the company handbook.
  • Present the direction of the business to the entire company on a quarterly basis. Present information about the company direction and explain the strategy that will be in place to meet certain objectives.
  • Develop cultural roadmaps and a company handbook that guides the principles for how work is conducted.

CEO Requirements
