Our bank branch is seeking a qualified bank teller to assist with our customer’s financial transaction needs. Bank tellers will help customers with their general banking needs. This includes requests to cash checks, produce cashier’s checks, traveler's checks, cash savings bonds, create a money order, and more. The bank teller will direct customers with questions to a personal banker or loan officer depending on their requests.

Bank Teller Duties and Responsibilities

Below are the job duties and bank teller responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with their financial transactions (cashier’s checks, money orders, and more).
  • Take a customer's deposit slip and appropriately assign the funds to the customer accounts as the deposit slip indicates.
  • Assist customers with ATM deposits through their bank cards when necessary.
  • Answer questions about customer accounts (savings, checking, and more).
  • Answer questions about financial products and services.
  • Work closely with the bank manager and head teller to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist customers with their loan payments.
  • Oversee a cash drawer and ensure accurate cash handling.
  • Greet bank customers as they enter the building.
  • Assist with withdrawals, regular customer transactions, and routine transactions.
  • Follow branch procedures in regard to safe money handling.
  • Provide customers with insights related to financial products offered by the bank. This includes credit cards, savings accounts, checking accounts, money market accounts, and more.
  • Ensure that customers are greeted as they enter the branch. Assist them with their final destination. Either speaking with a branch sales manager or looking for personal banking assistance.
  • Handle cash accurately. Count cash deposits and double-check cash withdrawals. Be sure customers are receiving the proper deposit amounts and withdrawal amounts.
  • Learn about new promotions that the branch manager is looking to inform customers about. And find ways to communicate those promotions to customers.

  • Previous customer service experience is a strong plus. Any retail experience is acceptable.
